Can I borrow from the library?

Books can be borrowed from the FPWA Sexual Health Services' library though it is necessary to join the library first. The loan period is three weeks, and items can be renewed over the phone, in person or by email.

Hire charges apply for videos and teaching kits so it is not necessary to take out a membership if you only want to access these materials.

How do I join the library?

If you want to borrow books from the library you will need to download a membership form and pay the annual FPWA Sexual Health Services client contribution of $10 (or $5 concession). If you already have a clinic membership you only need to pay the concession price.

Professionals can take out an organisational membership for $25 per year entitling their workplace to three library cards.

Hire charges apply for videos and teaching kits so it is not necessary to take out a membership if you only want to access these materials.

What about people outside the metropolitan area?

FPWA LibraryAt the FPWA Sexual Health Services library we recognise how hard it can be for people in rural and remote areas of Western Australia to access sexual health information. We can mail information on a specific topic to you, or you can join the library and borrow resources by mail.

The library catalogue is available to search from our website or you contact the library staff via mail or email for information on resources in a particular subject area.

The Audio Visual Hire service and the bookshop are both accessible by mail also. Individuals can order materials and pay by cheque, money order or credit card over the phone. Organisations can pay by those methods or, if they prefer, receive an invoice with the supply of the order.
